for everyone

It was almost a year ago, I sent out the below mail to my friends telling them about the big move of my life, from south hemisphere to north hemisphere of the globe.

"I am writing to let you know that I am going to the UK for a working holiday in October!

Well, for those who know me well, you might already know that i have always wanted to go to the Europe for traveling. However, with limited fund and time, i figure out i won't be able to see much of the Europe if i only go there for a 14-days or 3 weeks holiday.

Therefore, i decided to take up a working holiday! Working in the profession that i committed to, and holidaying in the countries that i always wanted to visit! Isn't that the perfect arrangement? I am really excited about this! I am going to explore a new horizon, meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, lifestyles, adapting to new work ethics...

WAH! I am EXCITED!! However, at the same time, i am quite anxious and apprehensive too! Leaving Perth (where i have fallen in love for the past few years), starting a new life in a strange country can be a bit devastating. (I have been informed by our beloved UK Limbangian that i will get some helping hands from them! Thanks, MT and BH!)

Nevertheless, i am giving myself 12 months time to explore this new world. I have been offered a job in the UK, Pharmacist Manager, at a retail community pharmacy in Birmingham. I decided to take up this challenge and expand my work experience! I believe it's going to be a great learning and living experience, with lot of skills and knowledge to develop too!

I am really looking forward to this working holiday!"

Looking back the past 9 months, I have achieved a lot from this life-time experience! A lot have been happening in my life too, work, relationship, etc. I am really glad that I have made this decision of step outside the comfort zone and move to explore the world!

It's only few more months before I go back to Perth. A lot of people have asked me, 'when are you coming back?' 'would you stay in the UK?' 'why don't you want to stay in the UK?''where is your next stop?'...

There is always time that you have to make a decision! There are so many factors that can affect your decision. From my own experience, there was a time that I almost change my mind before I came over to the UK. The week before I departed Perth, an incident (which totally turn my world upside down) happened, and shaken my decision. HC comes into my life, and thing changed completely. Well, I didn't change my mind, as you can see, I am in the UK now... but it was so close!

Now, it's time for another decision. It's easier this time, as I stand still with my initial decision, 'I am only here for short term!' From the beginning, i only wanted to come over to the UK for travel, for experience, to expand my horizons, to enrich my life, to explore the world, to see how other people live... I will miss UK, Europe, the people, the life, the experience... but I am going back to Perth for another stage of my life!

UK might be a dream land for a lot of people, but it's not my permanent stop! I love it, I will come back for holiday, but not staying here forever! :)
